Deruta, known for its ceramics, is within roughly 10 km to the south-west. The SS75 (Centrale Umbra) road axis crosses the plain giving direct road links toward Foligno and Perugia, and the area is served by regional rail. The immediate surroundings are an agricultural plain of olive groves, orchards and arable fields; there are no significant lakes within the 15 km radius and no national park status (only the regional park on Monte Subasio).
