The Beigua Regional Nature Park begins above the coast, and the Beigua UNESCO Global Geopark covers the mountain block behind Arenzano. The nearest ski lifts are on the Santo Stefano d'Aveto side of the Ligurian Apennines, roughly 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours by road, so they are not part of the immediate landscape. Genoa is the nearest large city, with a major port, rail links, airport and full city services. Arenzano is known for its seafront and as one of the access points to the Beigua uplands.
