The A20 motorway (Palermo–Messina) and the Palermo–Messina coastal railway run along this stretch of coast and serve Sant'Agata di Militello. Neighbouring coastal towns such as Capo d'Orlando and Acquedolci are a short drive away and provide additional shops and tourist services. The immediate hinterland consists of mixed broadleaf and chestnut forest and agricultural land used for citrus, olives and local fishing and summer tourism activity.
