Saponara Piazza San Sebastiano

The Peloritani hills rise immediately inland of Rometta, with short steep valleys running down to the Tyrrhenian coast. The Tyrrhenian Sea is at the foot of the area, and this stretch of coast faces the Aeolian Islands on clear days. Rometta sits on the Messina side of the north Sicilian coast, with Milazzo the nearest larger town for everyday services and ferry links, and Messina reachable for the full range of city services and rail connections. This coast is known for citrus, olives and small seaside settlements backed by low mountains.
