The cluster is in the built-up area of Quartu Sant’Elena on the east side of the Cagliari urban area, so the surroundings are urban streets rather than open landscape. The Gulf of Cagliari and the Poetto seafront are nearby. The Molentargius-Saline Regional Park lies between Quartu and Cagliari, with former salt pans and wetlands known for birdlife. Cagliari is the nearest city of size, with the full range of urban services, a port and rail connections. The Sette Fratelli massif and park are inland but outside the immediate urban landscape.
