The Topino and Clitunno river system runs through this part of the valley, with the Fonti del Clitunno about 15 km away. Monte Subasio Regional Park begins just to the northeast around Assisi and Spello. Bevagna itself has a walled medieval centre on the plain, and within 15 km there are the larger historic towns of Foligno, Montefalco, Spello and Assisi, with the Basilica of San Francesco at Assisi as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This area is known for olive groves, vineyards and Sagrantino wine around Montefalco.
