Sections of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and marked hiking trails cross the park. Small local ski slopes and lifts are at Santo Stefano d'Aveto (local resort), about a 20–30 minute drive. Within the surrounding 15 km are scattered mountain villages and agricultural land; the nearest larger town on the coast with a rail connection and broader services is Chiavari. The area has extensive chestnut and beech woodland and is used for pastoral mountain agriculture and freshwater trout fishing.
