This is inland central Sicily, in a hilly agricultural landscape of wheat fields, pasture and clay and limestone ridges. Mussomeli itself is known for Castello Manfredonico, which stands on a rock above the town. Within this area there are broad views over the inner Sicilian uplands rather than a coast, lake or major river setting.
