Quadrilocale in Santa Caterina Villarmosa

This is inland central Sicily in the grain hills between the Madonie to the north and the higher interior around Enna, with rolling cultivated uplands, broad valleys and badland-like clay slopes in places. The Salso-Imera Meridionale river system lies in this part of the province. The nearest town of size is Caltanissetta, which provides the main services and rail connections for the area; Enna is also an important inland centre within daily use. The area is known for cereal farming and the historic sulphur-mining landscape of central Sicily.
