Villa a schiera in Roccamonfina

Monte Santa Croce and the extinct volcanic massif of Roccamonfina rise around the town. The area falls within the Parco Regionale di Roccamonfina-Foce Garigliano, with chestnut woods on the volcanic slopes. The Garigliano river plain lies nearby to the north-west, and the Domitian coast on the Tyrrhenian is reached in a short drive but is outside the immediate hill setting. The nearest larger centres are Sessa Aurunca and, farther on the plain, Caserta, which provide the main services and rail connections. The area is known for chestnuts and for the volcanic forest landscape of the Roccamonfina massif.
