The cluster lies at the foot of the Monti Tifatini, the limestone hills that run east of Caserta. The Volturno plain begins nearby, so the immediate landscape is a mix of low hills, built-up strips and agricultural land rather than a single continuous natural setting. Caserta is the nearest city of size and has the Reggia di Caserta and full urban services. Maddaloni and the Caserta urban area are close, with major roads and rail corridors crossing this part of the province. The area is known historically as the inland gateway between the Campania plain and Benevento.
