Trilocale in Carinola

The cluster lies in the lower Garigliano plain between the Volturno-Garigliano coastal lowlands and the first inland hills. Monte Massico rises nearby and is the named relief of this part of northern Campania. The Garigliano river is to the north and the Tyrrhenian coast around Baia Domizia is within the local area. Roccamonfina-Foce Garigliano Regional Park reaches this zone and the volcanic massif of Roccamonfina is the main natural feature of the wider immediate hinterland. Sessa Aurunca is the nearest substantial historic town, with a large old centre and Roman remains. The area is known for Falerno del Massico vineyards and for the volcanic and alluvial farmland of the Agro Falerno.
