The area is in the lower hills inland from the Adriatic, with cultivated slopes, small valleys and scattered woods. The Trigno river valley is nearby and forms much of the local geography on the Molise-Abruzzo border. Within this radius the main service centre is San Salvo, which has supermarkets, schools, rail access on the Adriatic line and the nearest stretch of coast. Vasto is also close for hospitals, larger retail and a substantial historic centre. This part of lower Molise is known for olive groves and mixed farming, and in San Felice del Molise there is an Arbëreshë community with Albanian cultural roots.
