The nearest ski area is Campitello Matese, roughly 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes by road depending on the exact route. Piedimonte Matese is the nearest larger town, with a full set of everyday services and a railway connection. Alife itself is known for its Roman street grid and surviving Roman walls.
