The cluster lies in the upper Volturno area at the foot of the Matese mountains. The Volturno river runs nearby, and the eastern side of the Matese massif with the Lago del Matese area is within the wider mountain zone, though not inside the immediate 15 km radius. Roccamonfina and its volcanic massif are farther away and do not define the local landscape. The nearest sizeable centres are Piedimonte Matese and, beyond it, the Caserta plain; for daily life this is mainly a small inland valley-and-hill setting with cultivated land and low ridges. The area is known above all for its position between the Matese and the upper Campanian interior rather than for a single protected or nationally known site in the immediate surroundings.
