Via del Teatro, snc, Paternò

Mount Etna rises immediately to the east and north-east, and Paternò sits on the lower inland side of the volcano in the Simeto valley. The Simeto river runs through this area. The Parco dell'Etna begins on the higher slopes above the settled belt. The nearest large city is Catania, with the full range of urban services, port and airport. Paternò is known for its Norman castle on a hill above the town and for citrus and agricultural land on the volcanic plain.
