Rustico in San Giovanni la Punta

The cluster is in the built-up area on the plain at the foot of Mount Etna, with the Ionian coast nearby. The Simeto river plain lies to the south and west, and the lower Etna slopes with citrus groves and lava-built settlements begin to the north. Mount Etna and the Parco dell’Etna are the dominant landscape feature within reach. The nearest ski lifts are on Etna, roughly 45–60 minutes by road depending on the starting point and season. Catania is the nearest city of size and has a large historic centre in dark lava stone, major services, a university, port and airport. The area is known for Etna, lava landscapes and citrus cultivation on the plain and lower slopes.
