The cluster lies in the inland hills on the eastern side of the Serre Calabresi. The Ancinale valley is the main local landform here, with wooded slopes and mixed farmland around the settlements. The Ionian coast around Soverato is the nearest coast and is part of everyday access, but it is outside the immediate inland landscape. Serra San Bruno is the nearest town of note in the uplands, with the Certosa and the regional park territory of the Serre nearby. This part of Calabria is known for chestnut and beech woods in the higher hills and for small hill towns between the Serre and the Ionian side.
