The cluster lies on the Ionian coast of Calabria, with long sandy shoreline and the Gulf of Squillace immediately by the town. Inland the land is mostly low coastal plain with cultivated fields, while the Sila foothills rise farther west beyond the 15 km landscape. Catanzaro is the nearest provincial city of size, with full services, rail connections and hospitals.
