The cluster is in the Catanzaro Pre-Sila, with wooded hills and the first slopes of the Sila Piccola within the local landscape. The Corace valley cuts through this part of the province, and the wider area is known for chestnut woods, mixed forest and small upland villages. Sila National Park lies to the northeast but the park core is outside the 15 km landscape here. The nearest substantial city is Catanzaro, which provides the main services, hospitals and rail connections for this side of inland Calabria. This part of inland Catanzaro is known more for upland rural scenery and forested slopes than for a single landmark town or monument within immediate reach.
