The Ionian coast is at the foot of the settlement, with a long beach at Badolato Marina and the broad coastal strip running toward Soverato. The area rises quickly inland into the Serre Calabresi, with wooded hills and ridges visible within a short distance. The Torrente Gallipari valley cuts down from the interior to the sea here. Soverato is the nearest town of size, with services, shops and a railway station on the Ionian line. The area is known for the preserved hill village of Badolato above the marina and for olive groves and citrus on the coastal side of this part of Calabria.
