The cluster is on the Ionian coast plain at the foot of the Calabrian hills, with the Sila plateau inland to the northwest but outside the immediate landscape. The Ionian Sea is at the doorstep, on the gulf coast between Catanzaro Lido and Sellia Marina. The nearest town of size is Catanzaro, which has the main range of services, a historic upper town and the coastal district of Lido. This stretch is known for long beach lines, citrus and olive cultivation on the plain, and low hills rising quickly behind the coast.
