Bilocale in Ortona

The cluster is on the Adriatic coast at Francavilla al Mare, with a long urban beach frontage on the Gulf of Pescara. The Foro river reaches the sea here. The built-up strip continues north into the Pescara conurbation, with the full services of Pescara close by, including a station, hospitals, major retail and Abruzzo Airport. Inland, the Maiella massif rises within this stretch of Abruzzo and dominates the wider backdrop, but it is outside the immediate coastal setting. This part of the coast is known for beach tourism and as the urban seaside belt south of Pescara.
