Torricella Peligna, Casa indipendente ristrutturata [V8045]

The Maiella massif rises to the west and south-west, with the eastern foothills already around the village. The Sangro river valley is the main landform nearby, and the artificial Lake Bomba lies a few kilometres to the north-west. The area is inside reach of the Maiella landscape, with the Maiella National Park starting farther west in the massif rather than at the village itself. The nearest ski lifts are on the Majelletta side of the Maiella, roughly an hour by road depending on conditions. The nearest town of size is Lanciano, which has a substantial historic centre, services and rail connections; Atessa is closer for everyday services and light industry. The area is known for limestone hills, wooded ravines and small hill villages on the eastern side of the Abruzzo Apennines.
