Contrada Piana San Bernardino, 1, Orsogna

The area sits on the lower slopes between the Maiella massif and the Adriatic side hills, with a landscape of vineyards, olive groves and cultivated ridges. The Foro river valley is nearby, and the coast around Ortona is within the wider surrounding area beyond the immediate inland hills. The Maiella National Park begins farther inland, and the mountain is a constant presence to the west, but the protected high mountain landscape is outside the immediate 15 km radius. Ortona is the nearest larger town, with a port, rail station and services. This part of Abruzzo is known for wine production, especially Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and olive oil.
