The cluster is in the low inland hills between the Sangro and Trigno valleys, with a farmed landscape of fields, olive groves and scattered woods. The Adriatic coast is nearby, with the beach resorts around Vasto and San Salvo the main larger centres in daily use for shops and services. Inland, the first rises of the Abruzzo Apennines are farther west, but they are outside the immediate 15 km landscape. The area is known for olive oil, mixed farming and small hill villages.
