The coast around San Salvo and Vasto is the nearest sea frontage, with sandy beaches and a developed seafront. Vasto is the nearest town of size, with a substantial historic centre, services, a marina area and the larger shopping and transport functions for the zone. Inland from the coast the landscape is mainly agricultural, with olive groves, fields and scattered villages on ridge tops.
