The cluster sits in the middle Sangro valley with the Abruzzo Apennines close around it. The Sangro river runs through this stretch of valley. The Monti della Meta and the Maiella massif are the main mountain groups in the wider surroundings, with the Majella National Park beginning to the west within roughly this radius. Roccaraso and the Alto Sangro ski area are the nearest major lifts, about an hour’s drive depending on the exact village road. The nearest town of some size is Atessa in the lower valley, and Lanciano is the main larger town toward the coast with services, hospitals and a historic centre.
