The area lies on the Adriatic coastal plain and low hills of southern Abruzzo. The Adriatic coast is a few kilometres away, with the long beach at Casalbordino Lido and the wider Costa dei Trabocchi stretch running along this part of the Chieti shoreline. The Sinello valley is nearby, and the Punta Aderci area by Vasto, with protected coastal landscape and trabocchi fishing structures, is within the local coastal zone to the south. Vasto is the nearest larger town, with services, a historic centre and a marina. This part of the coast is known for beaches, cultivated hills and trabocchi on the shore.
