Lake Como is the defining feature within the 15 km radius, with the first basin of the lake, steep pre-Alpine slopes above the shore, and the lakeside settlements of Cernobbio, Moltrasio, Torno and Blevio all nearby. The Spina Verde Regional Park lies immediately west of the city on the hills by the Swiss border.
