The cluster is in the hills west of Lake Como, with the Lepontine Alps on the horizon and the lake within the 15 km radius at Menaggio and the central Lario shore. Lake Lugano is also close on the Swiss side. The Val Sanagra and the foothill landscape around Menaggio are immediately nearby, with mixed woodland and small pasture clearings. Menaggio is the nearest town of size, with lake services, a ferry connection across central Lake Como, and the usual shops and amenities for the mid-lake area. This part of the province is known for the lake-and-prealpine setting and for villages linked to the central Lake Como shore.
