The cluster sits in the foothills above the Ionian coast, with the lower Pollino mountains inland to the west and northwest. The Ionian Sea is nearby, with the coast around Trebisacce and Amendolara as the local seaside reference. Part of the Pollino National Park lies inland within this part of northern Calabria, and the park is the main named landscape feature in the wider area. The nearest substantial town is Trebisacce on the coast, which provides everyday services, shops and rail connections on the Ionian line. This stretch of northern Ionian Calabria is known for olive groves, hillside villages and the transition from coastal plain to Apennine foothills.
