Bilocale in Corigliano-Rossano

This cluster is on the Ionian coast at the foot of the Sila foothills, with the Sila Grande rising inland. The coast here is the Gulf of Taranto shoreline with long sandy beaches and a flat coastal strip. Inland, the Crati plain gives way to olive groves and hill country. The Sila National Park lies inland beyond the immediate coast. The nearest town of size is the built-up area of Corigliano-Rossano itself, a large urban municipality with ports, beaches, commercial areas and the historic hill centres of Rossano and Corigliano above the plain. Rossano is known for the Codex Purpureus, on UNESCO's Memory of the World register, and for liquorice production in this part of the Ionian Calabrian coast.
