This cluster is in the broad coastal plain around Corigliano-Rossano on the Ionian side of Calabria, with the Sila mountains rising inland within about 15 km. The Ionian coast is nearby, with long beach stretches and the mouth area of the Crati not far to the north. Part of the Sila Greca zone lies inland here, on the edge of the Sila uplands. Corigliano, the historic centre within the municipality, has a large castle above the plain. Rossano has a substantial old centre and the Codex Purpureus Rossanensis, on UNESCO's Memory of the World register. The area is known for citrus and olive cultivation on the Sibari plain.
