Quadrilocale in Tortora

The Tyrrhenian coast is at the edge of the area, with the Gulf of Policastro and beaches around Marina di Tortora and Praia a Mare. The first ridges of the southern Apennines rise immediately inland, and the Pollino massif and Pollino National Park are within this radius above the coastal strip. The Lao valley is nearby, with the river cutting down from the Pollino toward the sea. Praia a Mare is the nearest town of size, with beaches, a seafront and rail access on the coastal line. The area is known for the meeting of steep inland mountains with a short Tyrrhenian coastal plain.
