Location score 55/100The cluster is in the plain and low hills between the Sila foothills and the Ionian coast, in the valley of the Crati basin. The Ionian Sea is nearby, with the long coastal strip of Schiavonea and the Gulf of Taranto side of Calabria within the local area. The Sila mountains rise inland to the west, but the main high plateau and its national-park landscapes are beyond the immediate 15 km radius. Corigliano-Rossano is itself a large urban centre with services, rail links, beaches on its seafront districts, and the historic hill centres of Rossano and Corigliano above the plain. Rossano is known for the Codex Purpureus, on UNESCO's Memory of the World register, and the area is known for clementine and olive cultivation on the Sibari plain.
