Localita' Fedula - Contrada Valle del Gelso snc, snc, San Lorenzo del Vallo

The cluster lies in the lower foothills between the Pollino massif and the Ionian plain, in the Esaro valley system. The Pollino National Park begins to the north and northeast, with the first mountain roads and forested slopes within this radius. The nearest larger town is Castrovillari, which has the main services and a substantial historic centre. Sibari and the Ionian coast are farther out beyond the local landscape and do not define the immediate setting. The area is known for olive groves, mixed farmland and small hill settlements at the edge of the Calabrian and Lucanian mountains.
