Bilocale in via N. Gianniti, 20, Rocca Imperiale

The area sits on the Ionian coast at the foot of the last ridges of the Pollino/Monte Sparviere side of northern Calabria, with the sea immediately below the historic hill settlement and a long beach plain along the Gulf of Taranto. The Sinni river mouth and the Metaponto coastal plain are just to the north, and the lower hills behind Rocca Imperiale are planted with olives, citrus and the local lemon for which the area is known. Pollino National Park begins inland, and the first substantial mountain terrain rises within a short drive west of the coast. Rocca Imperiale itself is known for its medieval castle on the hill and is listed among I Borghi più belli d'Italia. The nearest larger centres for services are Policoro to the north and Corigliano-Rossano farther south on the Ionian corridor.
