Trilocale in Carolei

The cluster is in the hills immediately west of Cosenza, on the lower slopes of the Coastal Range (Catena Costiera) that separates the Crati valley from the Tyrrhenian side. The Crati valley and the urban area of Cosenza are the main daily reference point, with city services, shops, hospitals, rail connections and the historic centre of Cosenza close by. Sila National Park is farther east beyond Cosenza and does not sit within the immediate 15 km landscape. This part of inland Calabria is known for olive groves, wooded hills and scattered hill villages rather than for a single landmark landscape or protected site within the immediate area.
