This is the lower Po plain between the Oglio and Po river systems, with flat agricultural land and scattered drainage canals. The Oglio runs nearby, and the Po is not far to the south. Casalmaggiore is the nearest town of size, with everyday services and a historic centre; Cremona and Mantova are farther but still the main provincial cities used for higher-level services. The area is known for intensive farming typical of the Bassa Padana.
