This is the flat lower Oglio countryside in the eastern part of the province of Cremona, with the Oglio river corridor nearby and a landscape of fields, irrigation channels and scattered villages. Cremona is the nearest city of size, with a substantial historic centre, the cathedral and civic tower, and services of a provincial capital. The area is known for intensive agriculture in the Po plain and for the wider Cremonese musical and food tradition.
