The area lies in the Adda river plain, with the River Adda nearby and a landscape of flat cultivated countryside, irrigation channels and riparian woodland along the river corridor. The Adda Sud Regional Park is nearby along this stretch of the river. Crema is the nearest town of size, with a substantial historic centre and services; Lodi and the outer eastern edge of the Milan area are also part of daily geography. This part of the lower Lombard plain is known for intensive agriculture and for river meadows and woods along the Adda.
