The cluster is in the Langhe hills, with a landscape of vine-covered ridges, hazelnut slopes and small valleys. The Tanaro valley lies nearby, and the area is part of the wine country around Dogliani, Monforte and Alba. Dogliani itself is a small service town with a historic centre and everyday shops; Alba is the nearest larger town, with a substantial old centre, rail links and wider services. This is the area known for Dogliani DOCG wine, Barolo country nearby, and white truffles from the Langhe. The Langhe-Roero and Monferrato UNESCO wine landscape includes nearby zones of the same hill system.
