Ceva sits in the upper Tanaro valley where the Ligurian Apennines meet the hills leading toward the Langhe. The Tanaro river runs through the area. The surrounding landscape is a mix of wooded ridges, valley slopes and transport corridors rather than a single protected or formally designated landscape. The nearest larger town is Mondovì, which has a substantial historic centre and services; Cuneo and the Ligurian coast are farther away but not part of the immediate landscape. This part of southern Piemonte is known for valleys linking Piedmont and Liguria and for mixed hill and mountain countryside rather than for a single landmark site within the immediate area.
