The cluster is in the upper Tanaro valley in the Ligurian Apennines, with wooded ridges and narrow side valleys around the village. The Tanaro river runs through this part of the valley. The area lies within the Alta Val Tanaro and close to the border zone between Piemonte and Liguria; daily services are limited locally, while Ceva is the nearest town of some size with shops, rail connections and basic services. This part of the province is known for small hill and valley villages, chestnut woods, and mixed pasture and woodland rather than for a single landmark destination.
