The cluster lies in the Roero hills, with vineyard slopes, wooded ridges and small valleys cut by the Tanaro basin. The Tanaro river runs nearby below the hills. This is wine country known for Roero Arneis and for nebbiolo from the Roero side of the Alba area. Alba is the nearest substantial town, with a full service centre and a notable historic core. Much of the surrounding hill country is shaped by vine cultivation and scattered hamlets rather than by a single dominant monument or protected natural area.
