The cluster is in the upper Po valley at the foot of Monviso, with the Cottian Alps immediately around it. The River Po rises nearby on the Pian del Re side of the valley. Much of the surrounding high ground is in the Monviso Natural Park and the wider Monviso UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The nearest ski lifts are the small Crissolo area, reached in roughly 15 minutes by road, with larger resorts farther away in the western Cuneo valleys. The nearest town of some size for daily services is Saluzzo down the valley, which has a substantial historic centre and the main range of shops and schools for this side of the province. The area is known for the Monviso massif, alpine pastures and the headwaters of the Po.
