Rustico

The Maritime Alps rise immediately around Roccavione at the entrance to the Vermenagna valley. The Gesso torrent and the lower Vermenagna valley are the main local landforms, with wooded slopes and valley-floor settlement. The Parco Naturale delle Alpi Marittime lies nearby to the south-west, with the Entracque side of the protected alpine area within local reach. The nearest ski area is Limone Piemonte and the Riserva Bianca lifts, roughly half an hour by road depending on the exact starting point. Cuneo is the nearest town of size, with full services, a rail station and a substantial historic centre. This part of the province is known for alpine valleys, chestnut and beech woods, and routes toward the Colle di Tenda and the French border.
