Trilocale in Argentera

The cluster is in the Maritime Alps, close to the French border, with high alpine valleys and passes around the upper Stura di Demonte. The Stura di Demonte river runs through the valley. Much of the surrounding area falls within the Parco naturale delle Alpi Marittime. The nearest ski lifts are at Argentera itself and at nearby alpine stations in the upper Valle Stura, with larger lift areas across the border in Isola 2000 reached by mountain road. The nearest town of some size is Cuneo, which has the main rail and service centre for this part of the province. The area is known for alpine hiking, road passes such as the Colle della Maddalena, and military fortifications in the high valleys.
