The Tanaro valley system is nearby, and this part of southern Cuneo is a landscape of forest, pasture and small mountain hamlets rather than a broad plain. The area is inside the Marguareis Natural Park system of the Cuneo Alps. The nearest ski slopes are the small lifts at Garessio 2000, roughly half an hour by road, with the larger Mondolè ski area around Prato Nevoso and Artesina farther away. The nearest town of some size is Mondovì, which has full services and a substantial historic upper town on a hill.
